Land and timber in Central Alabama.

A background in forestry. A focus on land.
I began working full time in forestry in 2005 and entered land brokerage in 2010. Timberland and recreational property are the core of my work. I also have experience with rural homesites, homesteads, mini-farms, farms and development land.

Land
I have helped buyers recognize properties where strong timber value was not fully reflected in the asking price. I also look at how a pine plantation was established and whether the timber can be harvested practically. Those details can reveal value or limitations that acreage and a listing sheet alone do not explain.
Forestry
A timber decision starts with what is growing on the property and what the owner wants from it. Stand condition, harvest timing and nearby markets help determine whether thinning, harvesting or waiting makes sense. Those are the kinds of questions I work through with Alabama landowners.

Writing about land and timber
I write about the questions that come up in this work, including timber markets, forest management and rural land ownership. This site brings together my articles on LandThink, the National Land Realty blog and Consult a Forester.
About my work
I try to be straightforward with clients, buyers and sellers, and the brokers I work with. That means explaining what I see in a property, including its limitations and what still needs to be checked.
