A little about me.
I graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South with a degree in forestry in 2004 and began working full time in forestry the following year. In 2007, I became licensed as Alabama Registered Forester #2048. I added land brokerage to my work in 2010. Since then, I have spent my career working with rural land, timber and the people who own it.
Working in both forestry and land brokerage has given me the opportunity to look at property from different perspectives. I have seen the same piece of land as a forest, as an investment, as a place for recreation, and as something deeply personal to the people who own it. I think that perspective is valuable because good decisions about land usually start with understanding what you actually have.

How I work.
Whether I am evaluating a potential listing or a purchase, I start with comparable sales as close as possible in location and property characteristics. A site visit is critical. It can reinforce what the sales data suggests or reveal differences that change the picture.
I explain the evidence and give my best assessment of realistic outcomes, but comparable sales are not always conclusive. Markets can be inconsistent in either direction. I try to be clear about what supports my opinion and where there is uncertainty. The decision belongs to the client, and if I do not believe I can realistically meet their expectations, I say so.
